Number of Passengers at Kalideres Terminal Keeps Increasing

Approaching homecoming ban policy that will be implemented on May 6-17, there is an increase in number of passengers at Kalideres Intercity Interprovincial (AKAP) Bus Terminal, West Jakarta.

The number is predicted to increase until tonight

Kalideres AKAP Bus Terminal Head, Revi Zulkarnaen conveyed, number of passengers has increased since last Saturday (5/1).

"Today, 150 passengers have departed from Kaliders Terminal from 05:30 until 08:00. The number is predicted to increase until tonight," he asserted, Monday (5/3).

Meanwhile, there were 977 passengers departed from Kalideres Terminal on Satuday (5/1) and 866 passengers on Sunday (5/2). It has increased compared to departure in normal days during the pandemic which only reached about 250 passengers a day.

"We continue to impose strict health protocol on passengers who take homecoming trip, one of them is to test random passengers using GeNose C19," he added.

His side also checked passengers using JAKI application to ensure the passengers are in good health. Most of the passengers departing from Kalideres Terminal to Sumatera, Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java.

His side also built several posts, such as Command Post for Homecoming Ban Monitoring, Health Post, Ram Check Post which guarded by joint personnel from health workers, Dishub officers, Satpol PP, TNI/Police, and others.

"We urge passengers to always implement strict health protocol. If there is no urgent need or currently in sick condition, don't force to take a trip. It is better at home," he said.

Uripno (45), a passenger at Kalideres Terminal admitted, he chose to travel early to avoid government's homecoming ban policy. For this homecoming trip, he also brought COVID-19 free certificate after carrying out health screening and rapid antigen test.

"At the terminal, I take GeNose C19 test. Thank God the result is negative for COVID-19. Taking health examination makes me feel safer and more comfortable on my homecoming trip," he stated.
